  2. poet. His sermon on the decline of religious
  3. faith in Britain, preached in 1833, heralded
  4. the start of the Oxford Movement, a Catholic
  5. revival in the Church of England. Keble
  6. College, Oxford, was founded in 1870 in his
  7. memory. Keble was professor of poetry at
  8. Oxford 1831-41. He wrote four of the Tracts
  9. for the Times (theological treatises in
  10. support of the Oxford Movement), and from
  11. 1835 was vicar of Hursley in Hampshire.
